Lot Description

Early twentieth century silver inkwell of oval shaped form, the hinged lid opening to reveal dual inkwells, glass liners deficient. Hallmarked Henry Matthews Birmingham 1912. Length measuring 9 cm, width 6.5 cm.

The inkwell displays general scratches, marks, tarnishing and a few small dints around the body. There is some deterioration between the silver mount and the base, also displaying some dents around the bottom edge. As mentioned in the description the inkwells are missing liners, one recess also currently has a Canadian 1 Cent to the base. The hallmarks are clear and legible, the makers mark rubbed.
