Lot Description
An American Barbour International Co. silver plate cocktail pitcher, of inverted baluster form, the detachable lid with grape finial, the main body embossed and engraved with fruiting vine motifs forming an initialled cartouche to one side and a vacant one to the other, the handle and spout with conforming decoration, the whole on spreading circular foot with applied fruiting vine rim. Stamped mark to the underside. Maximum height including finial measures 12 1/2 inches (32cm).

Condition Report
The pitcher displays general wear and surface marks and scratches. The pitcher is covered all over with dark mottled patches and is in need of a polish. It may also require some re-plating. There is some wear to the decoration and some of the scratches are deeper and more noticeable. The lid sits tightly in the body and is stamped 'Patented Jan.11.1927'. The stopper sits fairly tight in the spout. The underside of the whole is stamped 'Barbours PCO Internationals Co., with number 5336 and 'Hand chased'.
