A glass hip flask in silver plate and leather mount, with flip over hinged lid, the metal collar marked J D & S with a bugle symbol, maximum height measures 5 3/4 inches (14.5cm); together with a similar, smaller example, maximum height measuring 4 1/4 inches (11cm). (2).

Condition Report
Both hip flasks display general wear and surface marks and scratches. Both also have tarnishing to the metal.
The larger hip flask has some deeper and more noticeable scratches in the metal and several dents in the globular lid. There is some wear and discolouration to the leather case. The hinged lid is in good working order. There are various other rubbed marks to the underside and it is also marked 1/4 PT. The smaller hip flask also has some deeper scratches in the metal and the leather case displays wear and also tears to one of the shoulders. There are some minor edge nicks to the glass rim inside the neck The hinged lid is in good working order. The underside is marked 1/16 PTand also EPNS and Made in England and 140.
