Lot 240

Lot Description

A Continental part canteen, believed to be Italian, for eight place settings and comprising eight table knives and forks, eight dessert knives and forks, eight table spoons, dessert spoons and teaspoons, a pair of salad servers, a serving spoon and fork and a carving knife and fork, each piece with decorative raised and moulded borders to the handles and stems.  Stamped 800 and ACC with further crown mark. (62).

Postage: Auction Default

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

All pieces display general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with use.  There is also some tarnishing to most pieces.  Prongs  to forks are generally okay.  Many of the spoon bowls display more noticeable scratches and more wear towards the tips, where the metal is thinner (one of the teaspoons is especially damaged at the tip).  The salad servers are part metal and part horn and the salad fork is loose in the metal mount.  Marks are worn but most are still legible.
