Lot Description
A pair of late Victorian silver sugar tongs, with embossed floral decoration to the bowls and shell motifs to the handle, hallmarked Thomas Bradbury & Sons, London 1896. Together with a pair of plain silver sugar nips, hallmarked Sheffield 1918, a matched set of five silver golfing teaspoons, a mother of pearl handled pickle fork, a single teaspoon and a cased set of six modern silver handled butter knives, hallmarked Sheffield 1963. Condition Report
All items display general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.
The decoration on the Victorian sugar nips is a little worn. The hallmarks are rubbed but still legible.
The hallmarks on the other sugar nips are very clear and the bowls are a little worn on the tips.
The golfing spoons are generally okay, there is a little bit of wear to the tips of the spoon bowls and some noticeable scratches to the handles. Hallmarks are rubbed but still legible with various date letters and makers.
The single teaspoon has some more noticeable scratches to the front and reverse of the bowl. Hallmarks are clear.
The tips of the prongs of the pickle fork are a little worn and bent and it is also tarnished. Hallmarks are rubbed and illegible.
There are some small nicks and dints to some of the handles of the butter knives and also a little tarnishing. Hallmarks and maker's marks are a little rubbed but still legible.
