Lot Description

Victorian silver mounted 'glug' decanter, the upper glass body with wrythen decoration, silver shoulders and collar with detachable stopper. Hallmarks distorted but likely to be Birmingham 1881.Total height measuring 8 1/2 inches (21.5 cm).

The decanter displays general scratches, marks and tarnishing. Noticeable trapped dirt and old polish between the open work detail of the silver and the glass. The stopper has some abrasion and nibbles along some of the facet edges. The hallmarks are very rubbed, the makers mark possibly HM.
