Victorian silver Christening mug of straight sided form, embossed with floral swags, gilt interior and  'C' shaped handle. Hallmarked  Mappin & Webb (John Newton Mappin & George Webb) London 1874. Height measuring 3 inches (7.5 cm), weight 3.2 ozt (99 grams).

The Christening mug displays general scratches, marks, tarnishing and wear commensurate with the age and use. There has been a engraving removed, however the silver in this area does not feel particularly thin. Heavy discolouration visible to the interior. The hallmarks are clear and legible, the makers marks is a little distorted.
