Lot Description
Victorian Scottish silver lidded condiment/oil jug of straight sided tapered form, elongated spout and hinged domed lid. Hallmarked George Edward & Sons (David & George Edward) Glasgow 1896. Height measuring 3 inches (7.5 cm), weight 3.2 ozt (99 grams).

Condition Report
The item displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age. There are some areas where the scratches are deeper, especially on the elongated spout. There is some tarnishing and also some minor nicks/dints in the metal all over. There are also some slightly larger dints, particularly one towards the top, just below the rim. The hinged lid is in good working order but the lid is misshapen so that it does not sit properly when closed. The base rim also has various edge knocks. Hallmarks and maker's marks are rubbed but still legible. There are additional part hallmarks to the interior of the lid.
