Victorian silver Christening mug of baluster form, engraved stylised acanthus leaf frieze, scrolling handle and raised above a circular foot. Hallmarked John, Edward, Walter & John Barnard (Barnard & Sons Ltd) London 1874. Height including handle measuring 4 inches (10 cm), weight 3.7 ozt (116 grams).

The Christening mug displays wear commensurate with the age and use, with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. A few dents visible to the bulbous part of the body. The hallmarks positioned to the underside are clear and legible, makers mark partly rubbed.
