George II silver caster made by Samuel Wood of vase shape with detachable alternate panel pierced lid. Hallmarked London 1747. Height measuring 6 1/4 inches (16 cm), weight 5.3 ozt (165 grams).

The caster displays wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. There has been a repair around the wide rim of the body also with a small split visible. Rubbing to some of the fine engraved detail. The hallmarks are in very good condition, positioned to the underside of the base, the lid also marked with the standard mark and the maker's mark.
