The brooches are in overall good/fair condition. The hair to the ptarmigan claw has worn in places, there is black tarnishing to all of the silver, the pin and catch is secure. The quatrefoil brooch has easily visible scratches to the back and general tarnishing, the brooch is stamped jamieson Aberdeen. There are surface reaching fractures to the agates, the pin is a little loose. There are slight scratches to the thistle brooch, there are areas of dirt to the detail in places. The dirk brooch is in overall good condition, the catch appears to have been reattached at a later date, there are scratches and areas of discolouartion in places, there are some dents and scratches to the back of the brooch. All of the agate is in overall good condition, the brooch appears off flat.
