A late Victorian cameo brooch circa 1880, the oval shell cameo depicting Nyx the Greek goddess of night with outer scroll design border. Length 6.5cms. Width 5.5cms.

The brooch is in overall good condition. Several fractures and hair line cracks can be seen running through out the cameo. Tarnish, scratches and scuffs can be seen to the border, in keeping with age.
