Lot Description

A Victorian silver key wind open face pocket watch by E R Davies, the white enamel dial having black Roman numeral hour markers, subsidiary seconds dial to six o'clock with Arabic numeral divisions and outer minute track, the extremely rubbed case, hallmarked London 1878, with milled middle, and vacant cartouche to rear, fitted with a signed full plate fusee and chain movement with right angle ratchet tooth lever escapement and undersprung balance. Case diameter 52mm. Together with a later silver key wind open face pocket watch. (2)

Open faced pocket watch, key winding manual movement is currently functioning, dial has a crack running from the 'III' numeral to the subsidiary dial and a small crack over the minute track at 6 o'clock, dial also has some small marks, hands have marks and tarnishing which is partially noticeable to the seconds hand, glass has some small marks and scratches, case has scratches and marks as a result of general use, case shows significant wear to the milled middle, case band also show scratches at 1 o'clock, back of the case has light dents, back also shows remains of a paper stick-on label and tarnishing, pendent shows signs of wear.


J.G Graves open faced pocket watch, key winding manual movement is currently functioning, dial shows various cracks with the most prominent to the subsidiary seconds dial and over the 'VIII' numeral, hands appear to be tarnished, glass has a chips to the edge between 6 and 7 o'clock, glass also shows some small marks and has a small piece of debris trapped to the underside, case has scratches and marks as a result of general use, case is also noticeably tarnished, back of the case shows wear to the engine turned decoration, pendent and bow show significant tarnishing.
