Lot Description
A re-cased silver key wind open face pocket watch, the white enamel dial having black Roman numeral hour markers and outer minute track, case hallmarked Birmingham circa 1844, with engine turned design to middle and rear, fitted with an unoriginal gilt full plate fusee and chain movement signed Edmond Richards, Guernsey, with verge escapement and undersprung balance. Case diameter 49mm. Watch A/F.

Open faced pocket watch, key winding manual movement is at fault and currently not functioning, dial has a chip outside the minute track at 12 o'clock to expose the metal underneath, dial also shows chips around the centre and some small marks, hands are missing, glass shows small marks and scratches, case has marks and scratches, front of the case has a dint by the glass between 12 and 1 o'clock and a patch of discolouration by the opening lip, case band shows wear, back of the case shows wear, a small dent to the edge and a patch of what appears to be glue by the hinge, hinge at 6 o'clock shows wear to one of the corners, pendent also shows signs of wear.
