Lot Description
A French mid 20th century sapphire and diamond bar brooch, of tapered form, the six graduated rectangular sapphires flanked by seven graduated old European cut diamonds. Estimated total diamond weight 1.80cts, colour H-J, clarity SI1-P1. Length 7.9cms. Weight 6.74gms. With fitted box stamped 'Rene G.Lecomte' inner address worn.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good condition. The sapphires are well matched, there are visible inclusions to five of the sapphires without magnification, they are of medium blue with an even saturation of colour throughout the stones. There is a very small chip to one. The outer diamonds are fairly nice and bright, there is a surface reaching fracture to one of the diamonds, the settings may need to be checked. There are minor scratches to the setting and pin, the pin and catch is secure. There are some scuffs to the box and the inner makers address is worn yet just legible.
