Lot Description
An early 20th century sapphire and diamond bar brooch, the central rectangular cut sapphire within an eight claw setting flanked by two rows of claw set old European cut diamonds with further rose cut diamond detail. Estimated old European cut diamond weight 0.80cts. Length 4.5cms. Weight 5.5gms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good condition. The sapphire has a strong hue. It has a hazy appearance. Angular colour zoning can be seen. A nibble/chip can be seen to the girdle. Abrasion can be seen to the facet edges.
All diamonds are included. Chips and nibbles can be seen to the surface of some. The diamonds are bright and lively.
A few of the claw settings may have been replaced/re-tipped. Several setting appear brighter compared to others. One has been soldered slightly off center. All setting will still need attention, general maintenance.
Tarnish, scratches and scuffs can be seen, in keeping with age. The replacement brooch is is good working order.
