Lot Description

Two brooches, to include an early 20th century split pearl set swallow and foliate design bar brooch and a late 19th century brooch, the central vacant panel surrounded by split pearls and a chrysoberyl and amethyst border. Length of swallow brooch 4.4cms. AF.

The swallow brooch is in overall good condition. There are slight scratches to the split pearl brooch, one of the split pearls is darker in colour with wear to the nacre, there is some discolouration to the back pin. There is one amethyst missing from the other brooch that would need to be replaced, there is a small chip to one of the amethyst, the split pearls surrounding the central panel are quite grey, dark in colour, all of the settings would need to be checked. There are scratches and tarnishing to the back of the brooch, the catch has been reattached at a later date.
