Lot Description

A cased Victorian emerald and split pearl brooch circa 1870, oval shaped, the central emerald and split pearl lozenge shape cluster surrounded by rope and graduated bead detail, with a vacant back panel. Length 3.2cms, width 3.9cms. Weight 14.15gms.

The brooch is in overall fair condition. There is an area of discolouration to the central raised panel, one of the emeralds is chipped this is visible with magnification, the split pearls are in good condition and well matched. There is a scratch/acid mark to the back outer rim. One of the hollow raised beads has a hole to it. There are slighgt scratches to all of the piece, the back pin is bent. There are scuffs and wear to the case.
