Lot Description
A cased ruby, diamond and black enamel scenic brooch, depicting a stylised cottage with calibre cut rubies set to the roof and windows, adjacent to a tree with black enamel trunk, pave set throughout with single and brilliant cut diamonds. Dimensions 4.6cm x 3cm. Portuguese marks consistent with platinum hallmark. With fitted box named Leitao & Irmao Lisboa. Jewellers to the Portuguese Crown from1887.

Condition Report
The brooch is in excellent condition. The diamonds are bright and lively. The rubies are well matched. Small nibbles can be seen to a few rubies. No obvious chips/damage can be seen to the black enamel. Minor pit marks are present under magnification. All markings to the reverse are rubbed but just legible. Light scratches and scuffs can be seen, general wear. The case is scuffed to the outside, in keeping with age.
