Lot Description
A late Victorian oval sardonyx brooch circa 1860, the central oval shaped cabochon sardonyx collet set within a twist border and hollow bead surround with vacant panel to the reverse. Length 3.1cms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good to fair condition. Bruising can be seen to the border. A repair can be seen to one bead. Solder lines are visible. The vacant panel to the reverse does not fit securely. This may not be the original fitting. Light scratches and scuffs can be seen, in keeping with age. The brooch pin is metal and may have been replaced at a later date.
