Lot Description

Victorian fish eaters for four place settings with bright cut engraved blades and ivory handles, the silver mounts hallmarked Atkin Brothers Sheffield 1891/2. Together with a pair of George IV silver Fiddle pattern condiment spoons and a further Victorian silver example.

The fish eaters display general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Cracks visible to teh ivory handles. The blades and forks are silver plated with some wear visible to the base metal. The hallmarks to the silver mounts between the blades and handles are partly rubbed and distorted but overall legible. The condiment spoons also displaying general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use, particular pitting visible to the bowls of the spoons. Each has an engraved initial terminal. The pair of condiment spoons are hallmarked London 1828 with the maker's mark I.B., the Victorian example hallmarked Chawner & Co (George William Adams) London 1878.
