Condition Report
The basting spoon appears in very good condition displaying general wear scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dints and a slight miss-shaping of the bowl visible. Solder visible around the join of the hollow handle to the stem, possibly distorting illegible parts of the hallmarks. Small hairline fractures visible to the inner bowl each side of the join of the stem to the bowl. Two air/blow holes are positioned to the top of the handle and finial. Leopard's Head and lion passant are clearly legible, as mentioned on the description the lion passant faces to the right, possibly identifying the hallmarks as circa 1721 - 1727. Part of the makers mark is visible but not legible, possibly Thomas Makepeace I?.
