Lot 256

Lot Description

George III silver Old English tablespoon with initialled terminal, hallmarked Peter & William Bateman London 1808. Together with a similar George IV example, initialled to both sides of the handle, hallmarked London 1828 with the maker's mark IB. (2).

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both spoons display general wear, scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age an use. A few dints visible to the bowls, more so the later George IV example, this also displays more wear to the bowl particularly the edges. The hallmarks overall are clear and legible, Bateman hallmark partly rubbed.
