Lot Description
A pair of George IV silver sugar tongs, the initialled handle engraved with various decorative motifs, hallmarked William Chawner II, London 1823; together with a pair of William IV plain silver sugar tongs with single engraved initial, hallmarked London 1831 (maker's mark illegible), and an early 20th century pair of silver sugar tongs, hallmarked Thomason & Haseler Brothers, Birmingham 1910. Together with two pairs of silver plated examples with claw handles. Gross silver weight 3.98 ozt (124 grams). (5).

Condition Report
Each pair of sugar tongs displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches. Some of the scratches are deeper and more noticeable. There are also various minor nicks in the metal on each, especially around the edges and also some wear and rubbing to the edges. The hallmarks on each are generally clear and legible.
