Lot Description

A cased set of six early 20th century silver menu holders, each modelled as a vacant shield within an outer pear shape open border and mounted on an octagonal base, all in a fitted velvet lined case.  Hallmarked W H & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1913 or 1938, also with registration number 454426.  Maximum height of each 30mm, gross combined weight 137.9 grams.

Each menu holder displays general wear commensurate with the age and use.  There are surface marks and scratches and some small nicks and cracks in the metal in some places.  There is also a little bit of tarnishing.  There is a possible repair to the top of the pear shape border on one of them.  Hallmarks, maker's marks and registration numbers are all clear and legible.
