Lot Description

Victorian decorative silver box chased with floral swags on a stippled background with moss agate mounted hinged lid, fracture to agate. Hallmarked James Edward Wilcox London 1892. The length measuring approximately 12 cm by a width of 7 cm.

The box displays general wear commensurate with the age and use with general scratches, marks and tarnishing. The lid and body do not sit properly or flush. A number of dints around the body. As mentioned in the description there is a fracture along the width of the agate. The interior is heavily discoloured. The hallmarks positioned to the underside are lightly rubbed but clear and legible.
