Lot Description

Victorian sardonyx scent bottle made by Sampson Mordan & Co of circular form with silver gilt mounted collar and domed hinged lid with engraved monogram and rope twist mounted chain and finger ring. Hallmarked London 1872. Height measuring 87 mm.

The Victorian sardonyx and silver gilt scent bottle is in very good condition and display general light scratches, marks and tarnishing. Shallow dints visible to the domed lid. The press release mechanism to the lid is in very good working order, remnants of old polish visible to the interior. Glass plate fitted to the inner roof of the lid. Although in keeping with the piece we can not confirm the chain and finger ring are original. The hallmarks are in good condition
