Lot Description
George IV silver snuff box of rectangular form, the hinged lid with stippled decoration surrounding a central vacant rectangular cartouche, and opening to reveal a gilded interior, with conforming decoration to the underside. Hallmarked TS (probably Thomas Shaw) Birmingham 1822. Measuring 6cm by 3.5cm, weight 36.5 grams.

Condition Report
The snuff box displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. There is some loss of detail to the stippled decoration and there is some wear to the edges, especially the corners. There are also some minor nicks and dints in the metal all over and particularly around the edges. The gilded interior is faded. Hallmarks are rubbed but still legible.
