Lot Description

A cased set of four Victorian silver salts with frilled rims and raised above four ball feet, two spoons missing. Hallmarked Horace Woodward & Co Ltd London 1899/1900. Gross silver weight 3.6 ozt (114 grams).

The Victorian open salts display general scratches, marks and heavy tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Pitting visible to the interiors. As mentioned in the description only two spoons are present and two missing, the spoons are hallmarked at the earlier date of 1899, the salts 1900. The hallmarks are clear and legible. The case displays some obvious signs of wear with tears visible to the surface.
