Lot Description

A 1940's silver tea strainer and bowl with pierced handle, the body resting on a plain bowl with stepped foot. Hallmarked G W Lewis & Co Birmingham 1949. Gross weight 2.3 ozt (73.5 grams).

The tea strainer displays general scratches marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Numerous small dints also visible. The hallmarks are to both parts of the piece, strainer and bowl, and appear clear and legible, the makers mark partly double struck to the strainer. The piece measures 2 inches (5 cm) high inclusive of the handle.
