A George III 18ct gold key wind pair case pocket watch by Benjamin Steele of London, the white enamel dial having black Roman numeral hour markers surrounded by an outer minute track, the cases, both with maker's mark RH and a reproduction crest depicting ducal coronet set with feathers above helm and shield with eight birds, the inner case hallmarked London 1806, the back also engraved HLM above Whittlesey, the outer case with what appears to be a cornelian set push piece, fitted with a signed gilt full plate fusee and chain movement having a verge escapement, pierced balance cock and diamond end stone. Case diameter 50mm. Total weight 126.6gms.

George III 18ct gold pair case pocket watch by Benjamin Steele, movement is currently functioning but would benefit from a clean and a service, there appears to be some wear to the tips of a few teeth on the contrate wheel, a replacement hooking may have been added to the barrel, minute hand may be a replacement, dial possesses some chips along the bottom edge and a crack that runs between six and seven, glass is marked, most noticeable at the apex, the inner case has scratches, marks, dints and tarnishing commensurate with material, the pendant looks to have been repaired, there is a spot of discolouration near the winding aperture, possibly from an acid test, the outer case is in a similar physical state, the push button action is stiff, but the case does open.
