ROLEX - a stainless steel automatic gentleman's Oyster Perpetual Date "Single Red" Submariner bracelet watch circa 1971, the black dial with hourly applied luminous markers, bordered by a minute track, date aperture positioned to three o'clock, "Submariner" in red script, calibrated rotating bezel with black insert, tonneau shaped case, fitted to a steel Oyster bracelet with Fliplock clasp, reference number 1680, serial number 3388245, movement calibre 1575, automatic work bridge states 1570, movement number D552470. Case width 41mm. Keyless work A/F.

Rolex bracelet watch, the automatic movement is currently functioning although the keyless work is at fault and does not engage hand set, the automatic bridge is tarnished, the dog screws and winding stem are rusted, the rotor bridge is from a calibre 1570, but the movement is a 1575, the dial and hands appear to be in a generally pleasant condition with some light tarnishing to the hands and gloss splotches on the dial, luminous markers and inserts have discoloured, plastic glass possesses a multitude of scratches and a substantial dent between the eight and nine o'clock position, case shows wear commensurate with age and use with noticeable scuffs and scratches, pitting is present to the lugs, additionally there are some nicks to some of the case edges, bezel is at fault and rotates in both directions, the black insert is scratched with some signs of corrosion to the edges, bracelet is stretched and shows signs of general wear with scratches, marks and tarnishing, Fliplock clasp is worn but currently functions. Bracelet measures 18.5cms including the case.
This lot does not come with any box or papers.
Due to the opening of the case back we recommend that this watch be resealed by an authorised technician before use near water.
