ROLEX - a stainless steel manual wind chronograph gentleman's Oyster wrist watch circa 1947, the silvered dial having luminous baton hour markers, Arabic twelve and six o'clock, subsidiary minute counter, seconds dial to three and nine o'clock respectively, all surrounded by an outer seconds track, the tonneau shaped case fitted to an unoriginal brown leather strap with pin buckle, reference number 4500, serial number 497435, signed seventeen jewel Valjoux calibre 23 column wheel chronograph movement. Case width 36mm.

Rolex wrist watch, the manual wind movement is currently functioning, the dial and hands appear to be in a generally pleasant condition with a light patina to the dial and some tarnishing to the hands, luminous markers and inserts have discoloured and degraded in places, plastic glass possesses a multitude of scratches and some scuff marks over the seven o'clock position, case shows signs of wear commensurate with age, possessing light scratches, marks and tarnishing, there are some more pronounced signs of wear to the lugs with some nicks and slight distortion to the edges, a nick is visible to the case near the lip where a case knife may have been used, leather strap is in excellent condition.
This lot does not come with any box or papers.
Due to the opening of the case back we recommend that this watch be resealed by an authorised technician before use near water.
