A 19th century carved ivory okimono modelled as the 'Goddess of Mercy'. The goddess dressed in elaborate flowing gown and standing above the figure of a crouching infant, raised upon an oval naturalistic modelled base. Its underside inset with a rectangular red lacquered seal and carved floral design. 11.25" (28.5cm) height
