A Victorian papier-mache ladies jewellery/work cabinet. The shaped case finished in black with hand painted and mother of pearl inlaid floral detail, the whole heightened in gilt. The raised cover inset with a glazed panel containing printed picture depicting a paddle steamer approaching a coastal harbour, lifting to reveal a compartmented interior. The front fitted with twin arched glazed panelled doors, each inset with a printed and painted scene of Durham Castle and Durham Cathedral (sd). 13" (33cm) high x 11.5" (29cm) wide

Condition Report
The right hand side front hinged opening door has had the lock broken from it, this has left a damaged area, the lock is present and could be re-glued back in. There are some chips to the under edge of the opening cover. Internal mirror in poor condition. Gilding worn and vanished in places
