Lot Description
A 15ct gold Continental diamond and turquoise bow brooch, circa 1880. The turquoise cabochon bow with old European-cut diamond centre suspending an articulated tassle with turquoise cabochon detail. With some green glass replacements. Estimated diamond weight 0.25ct. Unmarked, tests as 15ct gold. Length 5.6cms. Weight 13.2gms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good to fair condition. The diamond is bright and lively. Some of the turquoise cabochons may have been replaced. Some turquoise has discoloured with time and consequently the colours do not match. Some of the replacements are green glass. A chip can be seen to one of the oval turquoise cabochons. Several claws are worn or broken. All settings will need attention to check the security of the stones. Light scratches and scuffs can be seen, in keeping with age. The brooch pin and clasp may have been replaced at a later date.
