Lot Description
A French 19th century 18ct gold hardstone cameo brooch. The oval-shape hardstone carved to depict a bacchante within a split seed pearl and black enamel surround. With French Assay marks. Length 4.4cms.

Condition Report
The brooch is in overall good condition. The hardstone cameo is well carved, some of the outer claws are fairly sharp. The split seed pearls are in overall good condition. They are well matched, there is dirt to the outer surround that may need attention and possible damage to the black enamel. There are some scratches to the back in keeping with the age of the piece. There are some easily visible inclusions to the to the hardstone cameo. The French marks to the catch are a little rubbed and just legible.
