Lot 772

Lot Description

A sapphire and diamond bar brooch. The graduated circular and oval-shape sapphires alternating with graduated old European-cut diamonds, each within a collet mount. Estimated total diamond weight 1ct. Length 6.1cms.

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

The lot is in good overall condition with light scratches and very small dents in keeping with general wear. There is a slight bend to the line caused by a repair in a golden metal visible to the back. The sapphires are a medium to dark blue with moderate to significant facet-edge abrasion. Some of the sapphires have nicks at the girdle. The diamonds appear bright and well matched, estimated colour I-J, clarity SI1-P1 with scattered dark inclusions and feathers. Some diamonds are too small to accurately assess colour/clarity grades.
