Charles II silver porringer, the circular bellied form embossed with a continuous band of flowers, fruit and foliage, below an engraved crest to one side depicting a cat holding a mouse in its jaw, having twin caryatid double scroll handles. Hallmarked London 1667, struck with a maker's mark of R.D below a crown within a shield shape punch. Width handle to handle measures 7 inches (18cm), height of main body measures 3 1/2 inches (9cm), weight 8.94 ozt (278 grams).

Condition Report
Porringer displays general wear, tarnishing and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use. Remnants of polish in some areas. Some minor nicks and small dints to the main body. The base has been bossed-out and there is some evidence of soldering, especially on one side, indicating possible repairs. Hallmarks to the underside of the base are scattered and are all clear and legible. The maker's mark of R.D below a crown appears in Jackson on page 130.
