Lot Description

A Georgian silver mug of shaped form with reeded banding and personal initial engraving. Hallmarked Newcastle, remaining marks illegible. Height measuring 3 3/4 inches (9.5 cm), weight 3 ozt (93 grams).

The mug displays some obvious wear and tear with along with some general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the and use. Numerous dints visible, particularly around the bulbous part of the body. An engraving has been removed from the body and re-engraved, this silver has obviously been left thin with an oval supporting panel positioned to the interior behind the engraving.
