Lot Description

Victorian four piece silver tea service,  embossed in high relief with floral scrolls, crested cartouche. Hallmarked Martin, Hall & Co Sheffield 1861/62. Gross weight 89.69 ozt (2789 grams).

The Victorian tea service appears in good overall condition and displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Remnants of old polish to the recesses.  Minor dints visible. Each of the pieces has two cartouche - one is vacant and one has an engraved crest. The top join of the handle to the coffee/hot water pot is loose and also wobbles a little on the base.  The hallmarks are clear and legible.
