Lot Description

A small Japanese dish of circular shallow form with hammered decoration and embossed sylised dragon rim, marked to the base Arthur & Bond Yokohama, sterling, diameter measuring 4 inches (10 cm). Together with a meiji period small lidded dish of circular form with stylised dragon upon a hammered background, Jungin character mark to the underside, diameter measuring 3 1/4 inches (8.2 cm). Gross combined weight 4.5 ozt (135 grams). (2).

The Japanese lidded bowl displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing, remnants of old polish visible, numerous dents and bumps, the two halves do not sit flush, large repairs visible to the lid more visible to the interior, part of the marks to the underside are very rubbed. The shallow dish displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing, the rim has split from the body in a number of large areas, also a number of cracks to the rim, the marks to the underside are clear and legible.
