Lot Description
Two matching pairs of George III silver candlesticks made by Ebenezer Coker, on shaped fluted bases embellished with shells to each corner, the baluster knopped stems conforming in decoration with shell detail to the shoulder knops and corded bands, detachable nozzles, notched numbered, two missing. Each pair engraved with a different crest. Each pair Hallmarked London 1766/67. Gross combined weight 64.85 ozt (2017.5 grams).

Condition Report
The candlesticks display general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. There is some variance in the condition of the candlesticks in particular the corded/gadrooned detail is noticeably rubbed to two examples. The two present nozzles and scounces have been notched numbered. Seams have become visible, slight split to one on the edge of the sconce. Two small filled holes visible to the lower stem of one example. The hallmarks are clear and legible to the underside of each candlestick, remnants of the standard mark and maker's mark visible to to each of the scounces and two nozzles. two of the candlesticks are hallmarked 1766 and two 1767, each crested pair has one of each hallmarked date.
