Lot Description

Victorian silver butter spade, hallmarked John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater London 1891. Together with a pair of Georgian silver sugar nips, at fault, and a 1920's silver mustard pot with associated silver spoon. Gross weight 4.2 ozt (131 grams).

The butter spade and mustard pot display general scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The pair of Georgian sugar nips are in poor condition, heavily discoloured and bent out of shape. Only part hallmarks visible to the sugar nips and no visible maker, the mustard pot is hallmarked Birmingham 1927 and made by Adie Brothers Ltd, the associated condiment spoon hallmarked Sheffield 1965 and made by Mappin & Webb.
