Lot Description

An early twentieth century composite set of cased silver handled cake knives and forks. Hallmarked H Fisher & Co Sheffield 1909/11, four knives made by Yates Brothers.

The knives and forks display obvious scratches, marks, tarnishing and numerous dints. The blades and forks have begun to move away from the mounts. The hallmarks are heavily distorted and worn. As mention in the description there is some variance in the hallmarks, however the knives and forks appear well matched. The case displays noticeable general wear commensurate with the age and use, the clasp is stiff.
