Lot Description

A glass and silver plated hip flask with detachable cup, leather covered shoulders and domed hinged lid with locking mechanism. Stamped JD&S with the bugle mark for James Dixon & Sons. Height measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm).

The silver plated hip flask displays general scratches, marks, dints wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. fraying of the leather visible at the seam. The hinge and locking mechanism are in good working order. A couple of dents visible to the bottom corners of the detachable cup. The interior of the cup has previously been gilded, this has now discoloured. Small acid test visible to the underside of the cup. The makers marks are lightly rubbed but clearly legible.
