The box displays general wear and surface marks and scratches commensurate with the age and use.  There are some minor nicks in the metal and a little bit more wear to the four corners.  There is some loss of detail to the decoration.  There are contact marks to the gilded interior and there is an area of deterioration to the interior base, this area measures approximately 3cm in length.  The hinged lid is in working order.  Hallmarks are slightly rubbed but still legible.
