Lot Description

A 1930's large rectangular silver tray, the main body engraved with a scrolling foliate and shell border leading to a raised edge and reeded rim and dual handles conforming with shell details. Hallmarked Walker & Hall Sheffield 1931, numbered 53567. Measurements not including handles 16 ¼ inches (41.5 cm) by 22 inches (55.5 cm), gross approximate weight 121.5 ozt (3780 grams).

Condition Report

The tray displays light general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing. The tray has been previously re-finished with some loss of detail to the four inner corners of the engraving. The hallmarks to the front of the tray have also rubbed, particularly the maker's mark, this is also clearly visible to the underside.
