The lot is in fair overall condition with light scratches in keeping with general wear. The amethyst is a replacement and has minor facet-edge abrasion. The French marks include the cockerels head and another mark, possibly the town mark. A couple of the grapes are missing and some grape bunches are slightly indented. The amethyst mount may have come away from the surmount and been repaired. There are more significant small dents to the plain inside of the surmount with replacement strengtheners to either side. The surmount for the loop has bits of the metal worn away through use. There is a small nick to the inside of the surmount where the replacement sections are with associated discolouration. Please see important notices in the front of the catalogue for coloured stones.
