Lot Description

An early/mid 20th century diamond swallow brooch. The rose-cut diamond body and wings with a single circular-shape ruby eye. Length 4.9cms.

The brooch is in overall fair condition. There is lead solder to the reverse, where the brooch has been permanently attached to the cluster, previously the brooch would have been detachable. There are scratches and areas of discolouration to the brooch in keeping with the age of the piece. There are chips to some of the rose cut diamonds visible with magnification, some of the claws may need to be secured. The catch is difficult to secure and may need attention.
